To all the commenters saying that $1000 is not a budget PC, parts are getting more expensive and editing 4K video takes slightly more expensive parts. Get used to it. If you had the money to buy a 4K camera then you should have done the research(which is what this video is trying to give people) on what kind of PC you need to edit in that resolution. If you cant afford a PC like this then do more research into what you can get away with, with worse performance, for editing in 4K. This video is to show good performance without spending even more money. If they had left the RTX 2060 in the config it would have been even more. And yes $1000 is pretty low budget for 4K editing like some other(intelligent) commenters have pointed out.

$1000 is what I consider budget if it lasts you 5+ years. $700 is cheap optimal starter for 3-5 years. And under $700 is outdated and ok for 2-3 years.

*PLEASE HELP* - Can someone tell me if instead of this configuration, if I use an AMD 3900x or even a 3950x ( 16 core CPU ), the difference in performance for Adobe Premiere and After Effects ( Scrubbing and render time ) would be huge, or just a little better with the same GPU card or even with an RTX 2080 ? We know that Adobe Premiere depends much of Cuda Cores, and RTX 2080ti has the double cuda cores from 2080 not TI. So, what do you think ? Would it be a huge difference in performance changing from this CPU to an AMD cpu ? I´d like to build the bestAdobe Premiere and After Effects machine possible. I work with video creation. Thanks !

Makes sense, and I'm not disagreeing, but I am disagreeing with this part of your comment: " If you had the money to buy a 4K camera..." Smartphones being released today and for the past two or so years come with 4K recording capabilities out of box.

Hey do you have a video comparing different intel and Amd chips for actual video playback at different resolutions? Drop frames? And one that shows who has the most smooth experience while actually doing 3d work in Blender? I have all the render videos i can take 😆

Great video, I had planned on getting the Ryzen 7 2700 but the 3600 is just $25 more and performs better even with two fewer cores. I don't game so this video was perfect for my needs. Oh, $1,000 IS a budget PC for 4K.

Complaining about the cost of a work station PC is like a person who uses an F150 to commute to work complaining about the high cost of semi trucks. If you aren't using your work station to make money (or if you don't make a high enough income to fund your hobby to the extreme) any work-station PC build is not for you. In all reality, most hobbyists shouldn't be looking to edit in 4k anyways. Instead, shoot in 1080 on an affordable camera, edit your content in an affordable manner, on an appropriate machine that you can afford, and get good at visual storytelling. Once you do that, you can try turning your content into money, then stepping your game up.

I love this video! I took a stab at building a combo gaming/editing rig for my YT channel, and ended up with almost the exact same build (Ryzen 5 3600, but GTX 1660 instead of 1650). I am validated. :P

It also comes with front, top, and bottom (PSU) dust filters and side tempered glass panel. Should be around 30 USD.

Some stores lets you still buy them new, or the ryzen 7 2700x which actually costs as much as a 3600x, and when not gaming, a 3600 is such a stupud choice over a 2700x for editing. There are a lot of sales for the 2700x so you ccan ge thtem for cheap. Not too mention you can build a editing rig for under 400 dollars if you by used. The xeon x5670 is an overclockable 6/12 cpu that costs around 15 dollars on ebay. Easy 4.5ghz and paired with something like an rx 460/470 you have an awsome little budget editing rig.
