All antivirus software is a scam. Do your packet inspection at the network level with a hardware firewall/IPS or don't do it at all.

Man, Linus... Bitdefender sucks, cause its written to be insolent! Their software acts like it owns your system.
Taking action with notification that do not ask you for what YOU want to do about the alert.
I expect a user prompt for how and when I want to deal with whatever it found.

It'll also claim your "computer is infected" when it isnt - an inactive file containing some PUP or adware does not a computer infection make, until you actually run it without scanning.


So BitDefender claims its what the experts use, but its written for simpletons who can't be trusted with the simple decisions Kaspersky and other AV software ask their users all the time.

Uninstall every protection software. Turn off he firewall and the Defender that's stock with win 10. Then just click everything using a browser with no protection from the really suspicious sites and leave the computer over night online without the fire wall active. That could be interesting. :)
