When plastic was introduced for modern radiators.....I said it's the beginning of the end...I see the future cars becoming like a Bic lighter....when it is out of fuel it must be replacing the steel check balls in a transmission valve body with plastic membranes.....they are designed to biodegrade

@Marcos Sandoval you may be going to long between oil changes...viscosity breakdown. If you're hearing a noise linking to oil change, you likely may have hard part damage in your engine.

I'm an old guy. I remember setting the points on the old-school distirbutors. I still adjust the valves on my DR650. Those days are gone, with cars. My Fiesta ST is still too new to need much maintenance, but for a newer car, it's still pretty DIY-friendly.
The ST also has the best anti-theft device you can have in the US. A manual transmission.

                    Even mechanics today dont fix.
                    They remove & replace.
Most don't break down & rebuild an alternator or any cimponent. They just swap it out.
(There are a few great mechanics that can + will rebuild from the smallest gear to an entire vehicle, but they are few) due to time labor cost.

As a women what's the basic things I need to know or say when dealing with a mechanic so I don't get ripped off, I use to ask the dealer for the parts that were replaced, the dealer would give them to me. ...1 day he gave me something so heavy I could barely lift it up, after that I stopped asking. Maybe they did that on purpose

These new cars with computers that make it change lanes and park for you, if they get in a fender bender ...they scrap the whole car! This is because the labor time it takes to check every software function, diagnose and repair any potential malfunction will be so high, it will be cheaper to just buy a new car.
This is part of their convoluted goals: it forces used-car-buyers to buy new cars only.

DON'T buy cars that are impossible to work on and they will go away! Case in point, the "TALKING CAR". For a year or two in the 1990's, a lot of car makers had the talking car feature. "Your door is ajar!" ETc. Literally NO ONE asked for this feature, the car makers just added it anyway. Everyone hated talking cars, and i mean EVERY. ONE! People might be in love with the rest of the car, but the talking feature was a deal-breaker almost every time. How long do you think it took for the auto makers to stop offering talking cars? DON'T BUY CARS WITH MAJOR FLAWS LIKE THIS AND THEY WILL GO AWAY.

The more modern it gets the easier it gets to diagnose because the computer will be connected to more things with modern sensors. at some point you will be able to just plug in the scanner and it will tell you exactly what part is messing up even better than it does already.

Are there certain years where the frame is not affected ? What are your thoughts on the rusty frame claim ? Im in Michigan so a little rust is expected. Thanks Scotty.

I got a Mazda 3 2005 that doesn't start the first time. The check engine light is on and it says H02S Heater Control Circuit Low Bank 1 Sensor 1 and this means one of the oxygen sensor is not working. Could this cause the car to have starting issues? Or do I have to clean sensors or throttle to get rid of the issue?

All the good used one's were older and to my suprise they were customer's in for service. I realized that the motorcycles I wanted to own were customer who keep them in good shape because the used ones were trash. I all ready had my Yamaha 650 Special and purchase another as a parts bike. Rode that one for 20 years. With this new trend I guess now I will do the same for my autos. Thank you Scotty Kilmer.
