Revelation 13:16-18 King James Version (KJV)

16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Until brain implants are super-super-super-advanced, I don't want anything implanted in my brain. The number of things that can go wrong are gargantuan. From the immune system attacking the implant and causing massive inflammation in your body, to the implant having a short-circuit and frying your brain, to the implant going haywire and taking control of your mind and making you either kill people or committ suicide, etc, the number of things that can go wrong is huge. I think neuroimplants to enhance cognitive function are not something that I will have during my life. I am 40, and even though these neuroimplants might be available in 10-50 years, depending on several factors, they won't have the degree of sophistication that makes them truly safe. I believe that we are 100-200 years away from having micro-comptuers implanted into our brains that will dramatically increase our intelligence, ability to perceive color, memory, repair our brains, etc. I don't think that this is a 21rst Century thing, though. While I am sure that implants will be available in a few decades, they will be mediocre and very dangerous to have. It will take a long, long time to sophisticate the technology enough to make them both powerful and truly safe to use. It's not for my lifetime.

I think you'll have a chance to have one, but it really depends on how safe you want it to be. I'll definitely get one, probably in the next 10-15 years.

What happens after 18 months, can you get the chip upgraded ? or do you just become obsolete like last tears mobile phone ? What about software & interfaces ? Will those people end up in shipping storage containers.
If we show any signs of non compliance can we be shut down/turned off ?

I like how when new technology comes out all the religious peeps say "Mark of the beast! This is the end of times!" But nothing ultimately happens. Nothing against religious peeps but it just gets so boring and tedious sifting through those comments so I can find genuine comments with their thoughts and opinions instead of what the bible has taught them

This is what's wrong with humanity. We want more and more until eventually we create something unstoppable. Technology is taking over and one day they will rebel against us. Can we just leave things how they are know? Focus on healing the planet and space exploration. These modifications are crazy.

I wonder if in the future Neuralink will allow you to trigger things like dopamine, serotonin, cannabinoid and opiate receptors. Then everyone could have safe and instant access to any medicinal or recreational drug without having to ingest a substance. Brilliant. Say you break your arm, it could be triggered to automatically or manually fill the opiod receptors, effectively blocking the pain until you can get to a hospital to get it fixed. So many possibilities.

i know it will happen. it basically already has. all this is safe for now. when it really becomes dangerous is when they decipher the language of neurons and are able to not only hear what they are saying but talk back too. its conceivable that you could get hacked and become a slave to your own implant or the person controlling your implant.

I'd like to know the implications of this implant once 5G is worldwide.
There is some great disability applications though I have major concerns for other applications.
Elons concerns over AI taking over human intelligence in the future is maybe one reason he thinks this is a good idea for humans.
Lots of Christians and other awake ppl will have a problem with this tech as it really is like the 'Mark of the Beast' concept.
I'd like to know more of about the implications of this shutting down pain receptors on chronic nerve problems like sciatica etc.
Some useful applications but it won't be liked by everyone.

It doesn't need to, it's mostly intended for transhumanists to adapt to it first, not counting the testing phase. People will have a choice to do it, same kinda choice as phones, computers so on. You can choose to not have it but you would be giving up becoming much smarter.
