If you follow the scientific method, testing something so big (such as the ‘petrification’ light thingy) would be VERY important. The thing responsible for the light probably tested it on something less notable (like the swallows) so it definitely worked. I dunno. It’d just make sense, since if you’re doing something like tURNING AN ENTIRE SPECIES TO STONE you wouldn’t want to get caught in a failed attempt, or all your work goes to waste.

A guy is in a submarine, headquarters sends him a signal in Morse code, He responds “Why?” and is turned into stone, and the signal keeps running.

Quite often these kinds of plot lines rely on building mystery around a specific thing with high expectations from the start, so that when the reveal is something lower than you’re expectations you think it’s really clever. It’s the “figuring out Santa isn’t real” plot line.

It's still a worldwide incident so even if the light was smaller there should be some kind of mention of there being a light or something but nothing?

So they would have lived on. 2 after the "only survivors" reached the earth instead of go to the cities where all the books, preserved food, tech, gas, and medicine are at they... lived in some island devoid of people and start inbreeding... Another thing after inbreeding for... 3700 years their genetics would have been so wonky that by the time senku found the village they would have already died off hundreds of years before hand.
I love the science and chemistry aspects of this anime but some of its logic is flawed and so are it's views on deep time and human genetics. Also now that I think about it, if it was an AI then it could have simply up loaded the peoples minds into a central computer and had the people live their lives in the digital space like nothing had happened, their flesh and blood bodies would have just withered away the people non the wiser.

I'm not that much of a fellow theorist. I'm more someone that enjoy being entertain, and sometimes hearing/reading others theory than making my own (doesn't mean I'm not doing it, just that I tend to not do it).

Dr. Stone fall into that category until: I've read and watch because it's awesome, and never tend to think about it's story. Until your video, which make me wonder if you're correct.

Like Senku said: let's try everything, even if it's silly or stupid. And it seems you've really have think about it thoroughly. But, I have some problems with what you said.

First of all: how? How could nanomachines work THIS long? I mean, a year correspond to 31,536,000 Seconds, so 3,700 years correspond to 116,683,200,000 seconds. However, every 800,000 seconds (roughly 9 days and a half), Senku consciouceness began to fall. Following the nanomachines theory, does it mean that, every 800,000 seconds, the nanomachines lose their power and have to charge?

Also, how can nanomachines battery sustain so long, without losing capacity? Is it a new battery that doesn't lost capacity? And what about the nanomachine's durability? How can something so small still be able to wark as intended with a usage of 24/24h - 7/7days?

If the nanomachines are replace, how? Shouldn't every factory of the world be stopped and completely naturally destruct? With the AI theory, does it mean that it as the means to maintain a central power AND a factory? Does it mean that it control many robots?

Now, a why: why was Senku the first to be revive? From what I've seen, Senku wasn't the closest to the nitric acid cave, so how was it that he was the first one to be revived?

That's all I can think of for now. If someone reading this (and the manga didn't reveal the truth), I'd like to read your theory and answer.

On a side note, I would really like to read a fanmanga or a fanfic in which Senku, Taiku, Yuzuhira and Tsukasa were friends 3,700 years ago.
