I can’t believe that Larusso was 22 years old in the first Karate Kid!! He looked around 15 to 16.

I have to say, living near Chatsworth, California makes me feel proud it was one of the filmed locations. The aftermath backstory of Kove's character was that he fell into deep depression. The tournament loss AND parking lot public humiliation really hit him harder than his tour in Nam. He never recovered from either. That's why he was borderline insane by "Part Three."

And this time, he looks like he's 40.

--assumption: Mr. Miyagi passed away, Daniel forgets all the valuable lessons, does a lot of stupid stuff, and this time, without Miyagi to fix it, gets whipped by a new set of bad guys, then remembers bad karate he learned from Cobra Kai, kills a man, and is now serving a life sentence in a maximum security prison.

KK, the next generation - An aged prisoner, Daniel, sees a rookie getting beaten up by other prisoners, suddenly remembers all that Miyagi taught him, and pulls the kid aside and teaches him what karate is all about. The kid enters the annual prison karate tournament, wins, and hugs Daniel for all he has done.
