for many people, not-doing is easier
than doing. so here's an idea in the direction of empowerment through
not-doing: the first of every month, how about we DON'T use the big corporation
products. DON'T check F/B or twitt etc, DON'T buy anything produced by or sold
by companies who aren't taking any steps to find solutions for climate change,
etc. this not-doing would remind those
capitalists of our power as consumers (imagine when they begin to notice that
things are flat once a month! -they'd know we could do it more, if we wanted).
it would also remind us that we do have power, at least as consumers (which is
our main and sometimes only role vis a vis those guys. it might also help us
remember that there is life without social media. it's small and easy, but if it takes
off, it could change how the corporations see us! if this idea makes sense, pass it
on. (of course it'[s ok to use the tools They give us against Them - I'm not
talking about bringing Them down, just reminding Them that They depend on us.
we could still live without amazon, but can amazon live without us??!!)

This is not new. Carnegie and Rockefeller, the Bezos of their time, used to abuse workers the same way. And it was more than 100 years ago. How comes the French were able to have a revolution and fight for their rights while here we are still getting screwed over and over. I mean I m writing this comment on Dec 8th. I m currently in Paris for my work. For the past 3 days French people have been fighting to save their pensions. I do not like the French for their arrogance but they know how to fight back against their government and corporations. French workers have a 35h work week. 5 weeks of paid vacation. They also have an end of the year bonus called the thirteenth month.....etc..... And let's not even talk about their healthcare. 7 years ago I was in Marseille in the south of France. It is a huge blue collars city. Due to a very bad food poisoning I had to spend 3 days in the hospital. I gave indeed my insurance information. I remember I was getting stressed out thinking about how much my insurance would cover and how much money it would cost me. Well......nothing. I spent 3 nights and they did not even contact my insurance company. They just told me I was good to go and for them socialized medicine was open for all. Actually since then, I used my trips to go to the dentist as well, the prices are very cheap and the services as good as home. Also so far I have never met anyone in France having 2 jobs to make ends meet. So while I know some maga lunatics might tell me to fuck off and stay there because of their blind ignorance. I strongly invite people to go check out how other people live. It is possible that at the end you realize the states might not be after all the greatest country in the world.

This is a uniquely and stupidly American thing - same day shipping. WHY!? Why the hell would you need to have your TV on the same day as you ordered it!? Everywhere in the world people somehow survive with 3-5 days, and they're FINE. However, Americans AGAIN demand something they don't need.

I work for amazon Prime delivery. I get up 5:30, and the stand up meeting start around 7:00, and I usually finished at 6 pm. When we drive into the warehouse start to load, they start to push and yelling saying how many minutes u have, which I got 290 packages to load into a stupid prime Van. They want us to finished load out in 15 minutes( maybe less) which is impossible. So you have to drive out of the warehouse after the siren on and load it outside, and eventually your van will full with packages and even a lightly aggressive turn will screw up the order of ur boxes and u have to take another 15 minutes to reorganized the van during your delivery. I used to run and drive Fast as F to get raise. Now I do get a little raise but I got ness and legs pain everyday, I got angry and frustrated when the delivering apps giving me the wrong direction(everyday), I started to smash and curse everything I see in the van. It’s not a good job and fun job to do. It’s physically abused, super pressured, and poor paid. We experience the same shit with amazon warehouses & Btw, F U Amazon.

The reason Amazon raised the minimum wage to 15 dollars per hour was because they substituted the wage raise for full time employees stock benefit. Before they raised the minimum wage, a full time employee earned 1 share of stock per year. Then they say they took a vote among employees and a majority decided to take an hourly raise rather than stock. I think It's all a lie, nobody voted. Now Only managers and up get stock. We all thought the world's richest man was helping people out, it turns out that he is helping him self. JEFF BEZOS IS A FUCKING PIG!!!

I find it annoying how John Oliver refuses to actually say capitalism is bad and just say that billionaires are created because of a computer error in capitalism when in fact capitalism is built to always have a class structure where there are rich people, people in the middle, and poor people

This wonderful person was in great health, but was run ragged daily and suffered a horrible case of nervous exhaustion(yes, I know it's not deadly, but it did cause a severe loss all vitality) which caused the inability to work or do anything else for about a month or two after quitting. That's why I don't get leftists talking about how capitalism is evil when the labor of your employees is raking in billions, but rather than pay it to them, you keep it for yourself to send giant dildos to space. That is not capitalism; it's peasantry.

So they go to the burbs, cities with very little industry profiles and essentially pit these communities against each other for a $15hr job that should be paying $30hr. Fucking evil.

I find his brand of humor and delivery of vital information that impacts the global community important and refreshing. One very difficult intellectual issue I cannot understand. His opinions of the attack on the twin towers and the demolition of building 7. Infront of the patriot act, the invasion of Arag, followed by Afghanistan. The overt denial of possible false flag action in the face of all the extreme political changes in America and the U.K. the known history of propaganda and the money trails behind those attacks seems from such intelligent reporting and objective views, somewhat disingenuous?
