He swung me in his argument. Very knowledgeable and even Colin added some interesting bits about Michigan coming on in Seattle.

Joel Klatt & Chris Broussard are hidden gems on the FS1 network. (The Odd Couple podcast is another fantastic offering) Klatt would be great for a 30 minute CFB show.

Beat michigan state, that keeps michigan fans happy. Next beat Ohio state. You have to at least do one per season to appease the fans.

Michigan had the best record of ANY college football program in the 70s. They had more conference championships than any program from 1970 till 2004. Until 2004 and Ohio State's recent run they had a winning record against OSU in the modern era (1969-2004). National Championships have always been and always will be mythical (hint Central Florida recently won one). The only reason Alabama has experienced the dominance they have is because they play a high school schedule year in and year out. One final thing outside of Michigan having two bad recent coaching hires is Michigan still requires its student athletes to work to earn a degree. OSU and Alabama do not.

Michigan is judged on their potential.. People see the brand, the uni’s, the helmets, etc etc as Colin stated and people on the outside looking in get intrigued a little. As Michigan fans we know we aren’t currently Bama, or even OSU, but they once were many moons ago. We are loyal and want to see the block M on top again. That’s it. Just like ever other blue blood fan base. Before Saban Bama wasn’t what it once was for a long time, Clemson before Dabo hadn’t ever really been anything, but as we have seen time and time again.. when a program finds that right mix they can sky rocket. Michigan has the equipment, just need the jet fuel.

The reason Michigan is so great as a program is because they've been 9-3, 10-2 consistently for over 130 years, with a few off periods. Consistently good. That being said, Bo didn't win every game against OSU, or ND, but he won some of them. The win against Notre Dame this weekend felt good in a way I cannot as a Michigan fan really explain, nor really need to (Auburn, winning the Iron Bowl - same feeling). But it would be nice to beat OSU again. And if this team HAS finally found itself ... we may not win the B1G, or a championship, or a Rose Bowl. But beating OSU and ruining their chance to get a title? That would be almost as good.

Lol Collin as an SC fan I’m laughing at your hypocrisy. “If you don’t win now you’re a bum”...isn’t that how you do Helton? Helton has a 10 and 11 win season to one losing season and don’t you have him on the hot seat? You’ve had him fired for two years lol you hypocrite!

Harbaugh sent a letter to every parent saying that he is not going anywhere.   That he does not even have an agent.   Michigan is a great school with great facilities.   They are not a top 5 type of school.   Harbaugh is 45-11 at Michigan.  Michigan has not beat OSU but nobody else does either.   MSU has quit on Dantone so they are in big trouble and heading down. Michigan is at least trending up.

Our OSU record in the 90’s was 7-2-1, MSU 6-4, our bowl game record was 6-4 (losses were by 3 points or less including against Bama), our national rankings was 50% top 5 including a national championship (69-89 we were in the top 10 85% of the time). Here are my two points: 1.) based on the structure in the past, we won and was a top 5 team and 2.) OSU’s history is not rich with wins and being nationally ranked in the top ten. They just recently established dominance. We are expecting the same: to be relevant no matter what. We have the resources to get it done. There is no reason we can’t contend with and beat Bama, OSU, Clemson or any other top 5 team.

Could get rid of Cam, keep Norv Turner at OC, keep Kyle Allen as QB, have a great RB in McCaffrey, very good Defense. He could come to Carolina and have them competing for top seed in NFC.

This is the problem with sports journalism these days. Klatt starts with a ridiculous premise that fans expect Harbaugh to be at Saban's level, then defends Harbaugh from there. Klatt has no clue what most Michigan fans are angry about. We just want to occasionally win a Big Ten title and be competitive with Ohio State every year and well, maybe beat them every once in a while. Neither is likely to happen under Harbaugh.

Now that he’s showed himself to be just a good coach, people are saying that it’s unreasonable to think that he could turn Michigan into an elite football program.

Schools now play a dozen games plus a bowl game, 2 more than when Bo began. I could spin the Harbaugh / Schembechler comparison by noting that Bo lost 24 league games in 21 years ar Michigan. Harbaugh has already lost 12 conference games in 5+ seasons. Harbaugh is far behind Bo's pace.
