302 Bushels Per Acre

  • 302 Bushels Per Acer is pretty wishful thinking in our area, but we might hit it in spots with our Channel® Seed. Using Farmer's Business Network's data network helps me decide which hybrids perform the best in our area, on our soil type. We upgraded our automatic tarp system on the Kenworth to a Thunderstone 6000xr one-touch at Meixel Truck Sales shop and spent some time scouting fields with our Channel Seedsman and Agronomist. Jim and I finished getting the chisel plow ready to go. It won't be long now..

Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Hello I love your shows and especially that you are die hard John Deere...I'm from Alberta Canada never owned a red farm machine outher than a New Holland 357 mix mill.
I have a few ideas on how to improve the cab or work station on the new John Deere tractors it is a very simple feature that can turn the world around in operator comfort vision and control of the tractor.

      Yours truly Andrew Harvey Friesen

The Shurco 3500 series electric tarp is a GOOD system. The motor for one you had was built by Roll-Rite. Manufacturing. the case is made of a hard plastic.Good strong motors, I have had them for over 15 years. They will last for 1000's of opens/close rounds before failing, They can be easily replaced & installed in about 35 minutes. You could have bought a new motor for around $700.00 or buy a rebuilt motor for around $400.00 with a 1 year warranty on it. You spent around $1700. to $2000.00 wear you could have spent between $400 to $700.00 & been ready for a few more years.. There was years that I hauled as many as 400 loads a year, rolling the tarps twice per load. so I know them quite well. When you get right down to it the product you purchased is also manufactured by the Roll-Rite Manufacturing Company to & is a very good product. Roll-Rite makes Good Products. & stand behind them.

Due to YouTube failing to send me a notification when you posted this vid I'm being forced to watch it several days late. Being a rabid fan of your channel I have to admit its disorienting and frankly disgusting to have to watch it when it's OLD AND WRINKLY! Its only for my love of potential Deere sightings that enabled me to get through this. Now that YouTube has failed me I guess I'm going to have to actually click my subs button to check manually now.
If anyone actually reads this feel free to stop now because I'm about to go on a rant.
At this time there are 127 dislikes for this video. Really? Who are these people? Seriously, I'd like to know. These are people who don't feel that their day isn't complete unless they purposfully do something douchy in the hopes of bringing someone else down. It's staggeringly disturbing to me that there are at least 127 individuals who would watch a 20 min video on a farming channel, one that is both entertaining and very informative (for non farmers especially). And at the end of it something so bothered them that instead of doing nothing and moving on they have to actively be negative and try take a dump on it. Real winners let me tell you.
I'm sure the Johnson family isn't going to lose any sleep over this and I'm very glad for that because farming is hard enough on its own but they take the time to film everything then edit it and post it for us to get a behind the scenes look at how American farmers feed the world. So it truly bothers me that there are so many clowns out there who actively work at being a jerk. As a guy who grew up on a dairy farm, served a decade in the army before being medically retired from injuries in A-stan, and who now works for Maryland DNR at state parks, particuarly on and around the Appalachian Trail I have seen all types in my day and no question internet trolls rank up there with the lowest of the low to me.
If this were a political channel I could get the hate (even if as a vet it bothers me greatly that as a society we seem to not be able to talk to anyone anymore who doesn't radically adhere to our own political leanings) but to be an asshole on channels like this has made me question more and more what is happening to the country I love dearly and have legit sacrificed a great deal for.
Sorry for the rant, I had to display my narcissism and publicly vent, but damn it's sad.
Given the wrinkly nature of this video I know it's very unlikely Zach or Becky will see this but on the remote chance either of you do I want to thank you for this channel and all the time and effort you put into it. I think you are great ambassadors for not just farmers but for all Americans.
