After practicing his metods i must say that my car running better and have much less problems.
I watch Scotty for long time you can really see the difference how you use car before and after his advice and see improvements.

When my battery needed replacing the first thing my trusted mechanic asked
-did ya leave anything plugged in- when I told him -yes a phone charger- he explained why not to do that and offered me a charger that wouldn’t cause problems , it cost $37 for 2 of them and I haven’t had any problems since

It's hard escaping RF in the world we live in. Cell towers, power lines, 2 way radios. I'm waiting for 5g ... 😎

Minor nit, and late to the video but the adapters don't work as described here. They aren't transformer based (think older, heavy wall warts). That would actually be better. These use a "switching" circuit to keep a capacitor charged to the 5v output level. Needless to say, they switch the 12 input on and off at a high rate, and the rate varies with the output load.

Bottom line though? Scotty is right, if poorly built (no-name, made in China) they will splatter broad band RF into every circuit in your car.

Scotty ur right. I had a bad experience. My cell phone connector caused fire in my lighter plug. I stopped pluggin my cell phone connected in my cars. Todays cars has mother board(s) that can not uphold the load. Stay away from digital technology. It will destroy your health.
You are not grounded when u sit in ur car. Don't pick up a cell phone in ur car. The radiation will torch up ur body cells to death. Dont complain that ur brain has been fried like chicken mig nuggets. A cell phone is a deadly weapon. Good luck.

There are defective regulator designs. When electrical engineers design electronics for cars they are well aware of EMI and their design prevents or bypasses this interference. You are correct there are many sources of EMI interference, most of them are much more powerful than the a 5 volt regulator (like parking your car undera a 500KV power line) It is standard to design for immunity and test to ensure that the design has accomplished its objectives. In fact, all of the electronics in your modern car produce EMI that can interfere with the other electronics. So designing electronics to be immune or to tolerate EMI is essential and is common practice.

How about one of these plugs thats wired to a heated pad - heated seat pads for the driver's seat? Has an on/off switch on the cord. When not in use, I unplug it.

Thanks for the lesson on phone car chargers. Didn’t know that they could interfere with the automobiles of today. Another way around these things is to go back to the real cars and trucks. You know like the 60’s and 70’s. Where you didn’t get ripped off by big automotive manufacturers. It’s almost the year 2020 and new trucks are still only getting 15 to18 m.p.g.. the same gas mileage that a 1976 truck would get. Just another way of putting more money into there pockets.
