Here is why I disagree as a 1994 Celica is a complete gas hog and all that extra money you spend on gas is a complete waste of money!! I sold my newer Toyota car and bought an old 1994 Honda Civic VX. The BEST! car ever made!! It averages 43MPG has 240K miles but way better than your beater Celica that gets a dismal average of 26MPG. It's a 5 speed and shifts smooth with no trans issues! I don't drive slow either but rather put my foot to the floor and still retain 43 average MPG! The car can hold 80 MPH up 6% grades and easily cruse faster on the flats! I wouldn't hesitate driving across country in my old Civic VX. The Civic VX comes stock with ultra-lightweight alloy "real" wheels that look way better! I live in the mountains, work at a ski resort and don't need AC but it could be added on from another model civic I just don't want to get worse gas mileage for something I don't use. The car may have a little less HP at 92HP but the power to weight ratio is better! Its a hatchback so I can fit way more stuff in it! My car has 240K too and still is running strong!! I met a guy the other day who has 440K on the original motor on his Civic VX!! Parts for this car are cheap as there is a huge aftermarket for civics and Honda parts are cheaper than Toyota. Yeah I spent $700 for it but I have saved so much more on gas it keeps paying for it self. If I drive 20k miles per year I spend $1000 less on gas than your beater Celica so who cares if it has a timing belt as it cost $600 for someone else to fix it every 5 years. Civics have way more style! "civi for life" Have fun spending all that extra money at the gas pump HA HA!!

Scotty the only man to buy two tons of Gold with a Corolla Engine for only $350!! PS I got a 2011 Toyota Corolla Le and it's been beat down in the beginning but is now babied and it has 187,000 all original engine, transmission, water pump and timing chain! Warm your engines to the first line, use 91, cool your cars before turning off engines and turn on auxiliary power before fully cranking your car on! Also turn AC on in step wise fashion while also not turning on and off the ac buttons while the air is blowing! Love this channel I'm gonna change the radiator fluid this weekend thanks scotty!!!

Well Scotty, I bit the bullet and purchased a 1994 Toyota Celica on Craigslist list for $500.00 - It was a local car with 339 thousand miles on it. It's in great shape and runs great. It burns a little oil, but what the heck. I am shooting for one million miles anyway!

I had an e30 BMW that had 436,000 miles on the clock. Almost 300k of them were from me. Went through three timing belts, countless valve lash adjustments, only one clutch, and several sets of brake pads. Other than that I just did regular maintenance. Same bottom end, same head gasket, etc.. In fact It only got retired because it was wrecked!

I had a 1990 Camry V6 that was a GREAT car. Dang that thing ran well. Cheap. The downside was that it was easy to steal. Happened twice. Too much hassle so I got rid of it.

I wonder what Scotty's JVC stereo would be worth on the grey market, if authenticated as his? Mine is a Dual, which as far as I can tell is just about the cheapest aftermarker stereo you can get. I glued the faceplate back on after I bought the car in October. What do I care? All I do is listen to AM and FM. My only preset is the local FM station that carries Limbaugh and Hannity.

Americans are so lucky to get cars so cheap, all I can find for that kind of money are those stupid ugly and unsafe Nissan B13s made in Mexico. (They're illegal now thankfully).

Scotty, I am looking at a 1995 Celica with only 58,000 miles on it from the original owner. He wants $7,500 but that seems a bit much even for a low mileage Celica. It has a new battery, new tires and has been well maintained according to the original owner. What is a fair price for such a well-maintained 1995 Celica?
