                          I dunno if it's already been said (there are a lot of comments and I don't have that kind of time), but the color of an egg yolk is only indicative of the pigments in the food that the chicken that laid it ate, and not a measure of quality, tastiness, nutritional value, or cost. You can add orange pigments to the feed given to a caged hen (I hated just typing that) and get eggs with yolks that are that beautiful orange-yellow. But they will be the same as if that hen had been given feed without the added pigments.

                                                                                        Eggs are the same color once you crack or cook them, no matter who laid them, how long ago, or what the bird ate.

                                                                                        Same story for flour in the modern world (as opposed to 150 years ago when their might be adulterants). The only thing that affects the color of flour is wether or not it is whole berry, or if it's been bleached or not.
