@Paul Birkeland Be sure to get them in "Female" sizes ;-)
I had a cayman gt4 2016 got it used used with 6k miles and it was 95 grand. I put 10k miles on it while it was under warranty and traded it in a year later for another car and got 93k trade in. Anything that could’ve gone wrong with the car was covered. Find rare cars that are very high in demand that are expensive drive them under warranty and have fun then get rid of it while under warranty. It shouldn’t cost much. No reason to keep a nice car for 5 years i’d say two years max if you’re buying it and monitor the value of it .
Scotty, what are the 10 best cars to buy, new ?? I’m assuming Toyota or Honda products, but I could be wrong.
WHAT ABOUT CADILLACS??😄
Scootty talk about the 1996 Toyota Avalon
I dont want to be insulting anybody, but americans are simply to stupid to fix quality german cars. A audi well maintained can last half a million miles or more without major repairs. As soon as a "american mechanic" puts his hands on it, its over.
My experience.
Surprised that Audi are on this list. Also surprised that Chrysler isn't there. For good reason, you normally hit these.
Hi, Scotty! I`m a very big fan, what do you think about Peugeot cars? Can you make a video about them in the future? Thank you very much for all this advices and knowledge you share, you`re a very smart man and I admire you a lot, you`re like a good teacher to me, or better.
Porsche's are certainly expensive to repair - but their reliability records are MUCH better than any of the other cars shown here.
"From the Cayenne to the Cayman, Porsche's vehicles are sleek, smooth, and most importantly, dependable. In 2017, the J.D. Dependability Study named Porsche as one of the most reliable luxury vehicle manufacturers in the world. In fact, they were given a 5 out of 5 score for overall dependability."
«Over engineered» statement does not make sense for me. Of course «Under engineered» cars are more reliable but they are not so good to drive (in Europe at least).
Your already a sucker when you buy an automatic sports car😂
Just buy a Toyota. No need to worry about resale value if you never need to sell it. ;)
Or Honda.
Toyota’s are so good I had a 92 celica until 2005 and no problems. What I want to know is why did they f up the supra design lol looks like a bmw 🙁
I have Porsche, Jaguar and Volvo, great cars but they will break you if you cannot do your own work, parts are also gold plated, i never recommend them to anyone, high maintenance cars.
The people who rides Audi, BMW, Mercedes do not think about money .. if you are concerned about money buy Toyota , Honda etc..
So apart from the Jag it's all German cars lol. No surprise there. Over rated German rubbish.
I've been telling people all of those brand were money pits for over 40 years. I would never buy a European made car.
From my experience older japanese cars just keep going. I have a 30 year old Corolla myself and it still goes fine.
@Martin Sorensen They ARE boring. At least the 4 cyl cars are. They don't handle, brake or accelerate well. They do, however, just keep going. I had an old one that had 443k on the original engine & transaxle. Neither either had a substantial repair. Timing belts and a lot of fluids, filters gaskets and seals. Now the wife's v6 camry has 4 wheel disc brakes, sport handling package - firmer springs, larger sway bars, etc and is much more fun. But still not a sports car.
@Robert Shelton Camrys are boring but lasts forever. That how I see them atleast. :)
I'd have to limit that statement to Toyota. We have some old Camrys and you cant beat 'em.
The GTR it’s a much better value than that porche. Why would anyone buy it.
Strange...no American cars mentioned!
For the blue collar man . Best cars are ? Toyota! Honda ! And even Subaru are dependable! I’ve owned them all . Good dependable vehicles !! To me everything else is crap !! 😂 happy holidays everyone!!🎄🎄
Love you videos Scotty but don’t lean on a car that’s not yours lol
Scotty what about a Sabb???
My best price for a 2 year old BMW525 ,under 70K km is $5,000.-
This is a change from the normal GM bashing. I can’t really speak for the Porsche Because I’ve never looked under the hood of one but I totally agree on all the others.
Good day Scotty, I’m having a hard time choosing between Nissan Terra, Toyota Fortuner, Isuzu MuX, these are SUV’s available in Asia but I’m not quite sure if there’s any in the U.S.
Please make a video about them, or what are your thoughts about them.
Hope to hear from you soon.
God bless and have a great day! Lots of love all the way from the Philippines 🇵🇭
Thanks! 😀
"Wuh-hoo-hoo-E-he-he!"
#1.....Audi is the experimental corporation of Volkswagen. New tech,......test it on an Audi. If it works and is high performance send it to Porsche. If it is just mainstream, test it for two years, then incorporate it into Volkswagens.
#2 BMW........Crossovers are not the forte of the Germans. Small well-built sports cars are their bread-and-butter. And their top-of -the line large sedans. Remember also that distances in Europe are much less than in the US. A trip to California from Florida and back is nothing for us. For Europeans, that distance is the equivalent of THREE YEARS of ownership!
That is why the service intervals are so important. These beasts need to be looked after carefully if used in high-mileage driving (normal American driving distances).
6:57.....no, you only like Toyota and yank the chain on everything else!
#3......See #2. These cars were made for a different climate and different driving ranges. The normal lifespan of that car was probably 60000 miles before you would trade it in and get a new one.
#4.........Porsche new generation. Made especially for the North American consumption. If you want to deal with the maintenance, breakage, and such........buy an older one. It is worth more for resale and parts are cheaper (if Porsche parts were ever cheaper). Older models are less forgiving in handling and are a terror to learn how to drive fast.
Ordinary maintenance is obscenely expensive. But you have a very light car that can wale on most other cars in the short run. And that includes Toyotas!
No one that is a driver ever buys an automatic in their Porsche.
Gee, I wonder what the maintenance costs of the Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205 are? Probably not as much because Scotty loves Toyota!
If you find a Porsche Cayman S for $6000, it’s garbage. I’ve never seen one that cheap. In fact, the cheapest one in the country is over $12,000 and it’s not an S and it has almost 200k miles. They’re usually over $20k.
Going car shopping this week I’m scared out of my mind 🥵🥵
I wanted a BMW or Mercedes both cars that Scotty hates lol
Thinking about leasing also then they can pay the repair bills.
Desiree Butler what are you looking for I need ideas as well
Thought the Dodge Dart would be in there
My 2006 325i got off the hook easy this time
Unbiased critical review from someone who's driven/repaired pretty most car brands. [email protected] 9:09 -> Or should I say PorschER . The guy in the picture frame has a resemblance to Ferdinand PorschER himself 🤣😂
he is so funny and so acurate!! I hate purches anyways, lol
I like this man he likes to help people with car problems, and he is honest about the cars. May God bless him. Mr. Tony Stevens.
Dude... you couldn't be more wrong about Audi. LOL. Shows how much you really don't know....
no, he's right
Love you Scotty but disagree with Porsche!!! Don't buy a Porsche if you can't afford ONE 😎😎😎
I wonder how Fiat fits in here.
Each car maker has there few cars that are well made and others that are badly designed. We had a Lincoln town car and a Lynx back in the 90's the Town car was great while the Lynx died on the Bayu Bridge at 20k milles
Rev up your car that only stupid people buy.
Scotty always looks like he is on a good one. He cant stand still to save his life.
--cLAsic-- thats a ‘good one’
I could never do what this man does in sunglasses no less!
Dude your funny and I love your videos
I’m a 36 year automotive mechanic I couldn’t agree more..and parts for bmws are expensive..and good luck finding a mechanic...I drive a 03 cavalier 2door sport coupe..and never had a major problem with it, if they used them for fleet cars then it it’s good for me...
Scotty how true it is , a friend bought a used BMW and found out that it needed a new timing belt at a cost over $ 700
To this guy a car is transportation only. It always amazes me when i meet a skilled craftsman who has zero passion for automotive engineering.
Why would be listen to an american on advice about cars? There is a reason why European cars get exported (largely to the states) and the american ones don't. Everybody knows germans are the only people who know how to build a car properly. Fact
Omg my z3 plastic cooling hose broke and I had to take the engine apart to get to it. The first thing I thought was "why is this made out of plastic!?"
My local porsche shop is 60 an hr. And factory parts are expensive but no one uses factory replacement you can get better quality aftermarket parts for a lot less.
Did anyone else see that cat?. Insane. Absolute scene's Jeff
Another reason why the Germans lost in WW2....
Love the honesty Scotty
