What should we build a drive shaft out of next? My mullet?
PVC tubing
Do a concrete one Cleetus McFarland
Pvc drive shaft
PVC pipe, rebar and concrete
Should have used JB Weld for the epoxy.
Wonder who noticed the oxy was on the whole time his was explaining the task at the start.
@Cleetus McFarland build it up out of poplar, i'd use 1/4" thick peices. change the grain direction every ply, use a quality epoxy like the West System clamp it, then turn it down on a lathe. Works on airplane propellers!
Put it on a lathe, git er straight as an arrow. sloppy craftsmanship mullet man
140 hp? Aren't you guys supposed to be experts? That's a GT -- it made 215 hp stock. You're thinking of the V6 model, which did make 140 hp between 1994-1998.
How does Cleetus make toothpicks... slap some wood under a Mustang Brother!
Gee, why don't you make one out of cheddar cheese?
How about fiberglass drive shaft or carbon How about Wood Burning stove pipe
should have used a hardwood and not pine
Should've put it in a lathe, rounded and balanced it
Angle iron try that should be cheap
Round fence post soaked with fiberglass resin or possibly wrapped in fiberglass
“So you wanna shove it up in there” lol 😂
Try a piece of oak turn it in a wood lathe should have much better results, pine wood is just too soft, have fun with crazy ideas.
A nice gutter pipe jam 1 side in bolt it fill with concrete and bolt the other end in
Build one out of concrete
look boys and girls this is what happens when you do drugs like these fucking morons and think they are funny
It’d work if ya lineX it
Reenforce bamboo drive shaft
get the post lathed and coat it in epoxy!
What would work best requires more work but you could get a solid sheet of 1/4 or 3/8 sheet, cut it into appropriatewidths and lengths and epoxy the layers on top of each other to build it up to the appropriate thickness. I think it will hold
Very underrated for the “scientific” projects you do :)
"Cut twice, measure once"😂
DO A PLASTIC DRIVE SHAFT.
Just pop her up on some jackstands and take a chisel to the shaft like a lathe! Lol
Bet itd work great with ebony...or maybe even just oak
Do Bamboo!!!!
Turn the ends on a lathe so it' centered. Use oak or hickory wood.
Turn a 6x6 on a wood lathe. O.D. the size of the shaft with a shoulder diameter on each end to insert into inner tube diameters...
Who’s airboat is that yours🤔🤔
2 2x4s nailed together is stronger and will flex more before it breaks
Damn, felt like I was watching Neutral Drop! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCc5IUyv4Wi_3ZklmerIW4-w
Use the same idea but center it up and maybe put it on a wood lathe, make it round and coat it with Gorilla glue and Gorilla ducktape👍
Even if it was only 50 horsepower the wood stick would not have worked you guys wasted your money and your time come up with better content
Build one from Pyrex
Hard wood. Not that kind you used. Then, it will probably work a little bit better
You should try using one of these strong woods.
Schinopsis balansae
Lignum vitae
Piptadenia Macrocarpa
Snakewood
Brazilian Olivewood
Brazilian Ebony
Brazilian Walnut
African Pearwood....or maybe try just oak lol
Get Redwood, not Pine. Use same glue and turn the wood down on a lathe.
I love the color of your sn95 mustang. If you ever want to get rid of it, let me know. I'm a Chevy guy but dig your science mule. Lol.. hell yeah brother!!
Let see if this wood work 😂 I guess not
“Termites in your drive shaft, no good”
Straight grain billet of thermally modified Ash or Hickory turned and some proper sleeves for the bolted connections and I’m pretty sure I could make a shaft that could take a burnout.
...maybe next ime you should make a bit more tight fit and soak up the wood for it to expand and grip it from inside. Maybe those bolts compromised the strenght as it cracked the wood grain. Also by soaking the wood it would make it bit more flexible...xP
You need to use a really hard wood
What a bunch of goobers! I LOVE YOU GUYS!
wrap oak with fiberglass ;)
This is how you know you own a ford 🤦🏽♂️
When you put a fence post on the drivetrain?
That expanding glue spilling on a brand new(2days old) $750+ varsity jacket makes for a really crappy day ....... don’t ask how I know lol
