I just bought my first diva cup today. I’m hoping to never again have to spend money on pads, tampons, bla bla. 😂 really. It does get expensive over time. If any one out there has been using the cup, let me know how well it really works. I’m hoping they don’t leak as I’m very active- I’m a female MMA Fighter. I’d really hate to leak in the ring🥺😂😂 I guess I’m asking: is it just hype, or is it really an effective product. Thank you👍

Cups are disgusting and unhygenic stick to disposable pads and tampons girls much safer and far less risk of infection

It definitely takes practice. You have to stick your fingers up and grab the base of the cup. The stem is worthless. That removes the suction and makes it easier to take out. I always wear a cloth liner with it. And have no qualms after getting used to it!

I just wipe it out with tissue in public places. It will be okay for one change because your body just cleans itself out. I understand that is preference though. Also, usually you don’t need to change it in public places because it lasts so long.

I've always used pads. I only tried tampons a couple years ago and I never wanted to go back to wearing pads. It just feels comfortable. Wearing pads feels like there's something heavy between my legs and it has a smell everytime I use the toilet. I rarely had problems with cramps tho. I also use ones with applicator as I don't know if I can put it properly by myself. I guess menstrual cups ia the same but it is reusable. It's just too much of a hassle for me

My boyfriend calls my diva cup my butt cup lol. I don’t even remember how that started. I get horrible cramps from my IUD and it helps a lot sometimes. I don’t really know why. If you break the seal on the cup and wiggle it back and forth slightly while removing it it makes it super easy. Taking it out is a lot easier than putting it in! I can’t do it standing up either though. Good luck to anyone reading this lol they’re nothing to be scared of

Now here’s the real question....#1: do you use it now or back to traditional products?

And question#2: is anyone else disgusted by the yt ad that pops up for a similar product with the Asian girl sayin how she “likes to F%#*”? That was just too much for me, maybe bcuz I have an 8 yr old daughter that I would freak if she saw that ad maybe I’m just prude but I’ve never been modest or ashamed of my womanhood, I just think it deserves more respect than that.

That is not good...stick to pass and tampons. These people are doing some nasty inventions...nothing is supposed to be filling a cup from your body...let it flow naturally.

@Nina K Nina K you must feel real righteous with that comment lmao....I use tampons the first 3 days then pads the rest. Both absorb as it flows naturally and tampons should be the limit. You're not so bright. So you must be one of those who likes a cup of blood in your pussy for hours..just sayin'😂😂😂

I personally have not tried menstrual cup yet, am looking forward to it, but to go out in public and not be able to rinse the cup out “comfortably” I just would carry and extra menstrual cup ready to go change cups quickly and carry on with whatever I am doing, empty, tp clean and wrap the used cup pack it in my bag, til I get home and clean it up with water and soap. Something I would definitely try it this way maybe once I am “used to it” I might not carry an extra cup in bag.

That might make the cup get stains faster + the bacteria growth might be different than usual... 🤔? I carry a bottle with me for cleaning the cup in public (that I fill at the bathroom sinks) but cup wipes are also a thing that exist

Just got my Diva cup last month and here’s my review so far🖤🖤
                                      1. You know when you gotta hold your tampon string out of the way when you shit and piss? You don’t have to do that with this.
                                      2. Pads always ended up smelling and were bulky. Tampons always ended up smelling and I had to change them a lot (my period is hella heavy). With the cup I can sit with my legs OPEN and there’s no friggin smell! Like wat?
                                      3. They’re surprisingly easy to use. Insertion and taking it out is like 10 secs at most when you get used to it
                                      4. Any time I would wear a tampon in water it would absorb the water and I’d bleed through my swimsuit. Not with this. (I live in southern Louisiana and it was pretty warm till recently)
                                      4. Id always get blood around my vagina with tampons and have to use wipes (same when I used pads) I don’t have that problem with the cup AT. ALL.

I think the only thing is to remember to change it and my labia is also pretty big and the first time putting it in I felt the stem on my labia and it was SOOO uncomfortable but after moving around it worked it’s way into a good position and I also learned how to insert it better so I don’t have that problem anymore. You can also trim the stem if needed

I love it sm and I’m never going back!!

Hey, just wanted to tell you that having your period early is nothing to be ashamed of, so definitely don't be afraid to tell your mom. I am pretty sure she won't be angry or anything (In case you were afraid of that.) and will help you a lot. =)
(Anyway for beginners, I would recommend pads, since they don't hurt at all (since you don't have to stick them in like the others). You just have to be careful of leakage.)

Anyway, good luck. You can do it. =)

HI! I am a cup user and love it. the air bubbles you felt I had them too and found that they came when the cup was full but also if it wasn't in properly. took me 2 months to get used to it (2 rounds of periods) but I won't go back to anything else. the price of it compared to buying tampons every month and less landfill. the stories of girls going into shock from a tampon they forgot because of the chemicals used to make them, the cup is safer.

They should make the handle more roundish so theirs a good grip to hold. Instead of the thing being toooo straight that it's hard to hold an pull.

                                                  So I have questions.
                                                  1) When you poo does the cup try to come out at all? I know with my tampons it tries to do that and it's super uncomfortable.
                                                  2) when you have to take it out/put it back in, don't you get blood all over your hands? Especially on heavy flow days? I feel like itd be super messy which is one of the reasons putting me off from trying a diva cup.

The diva cup fully opens in the vagina and that’s why it needs the little air holes near the rim and also why you get the feeling of escaping bubble as the cup fills. The femmycycle doesn’t open the rim opens but the bulb stays crushed inside you and it is waaaaay better.

I was using the Diva Cup for a year or so and loved it. LIKE LOVED IT. The world finally felt beautiful when I was having my period. BUT after a year I took it out in the shower to empty and clean up and I also fainted when I felt something protruding out of my vaginal cavity. After going to the doctor, I found out that my cervix had prolapsed. My gyno was surprised because I’m 25 and in good shape and I’m very healthy. And I suggested that maybe it was the suction of my menstrual cup that caused the prolapse? She said she’d never heard of that before and didn’t think it was possible. I WAS RELIEVED. Because once you start the cup you don’t EVER want to stop. So, I went back to using it and low and behold it happened AGAIN. I tried contacting Diva Cup to ask about the issue and they never responded.

Months later now, I’ve had no choice but to go back to organic cotton tampons. It still pains me to think about it. I miss my cup SO BADLY. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue. Cuz I’m not about to have my period for another 20 years using tampons.

There's no way what happened to you is normal. Please go for a 2nd opinion. A cup should not cause what's happened to you. X

That sounds like something out of a horror movie. This is probably a stupid question but; did you use to remove the cup correctly, by breaking the suction before pulling it out? That's the only (far fetched?) scenario that comes to my mind in which the cup could somehow have caused this. There are plenty of natural reasons that can cause prolapses so I really hope it's not related to menstrual cups.

                                                                        • Céleste Boivin

I might be late to comment on this but as a user of the Diva Cup there are things that I want to tell you that would have made your life easier.

First, the part that says to rotate the Diva cup is for when you put it on place. Since you put it inside folded, the rotation will make it unfold and '' stick like glue'' so it won't leak. (I speak french sorry if it sounds weird haha)

                                                                          2. When you take it out, my advice is to grab the stem(the tip?) of it but also grab the bottom with your finger, that way it will "undone" the suction and as a little bit of air comes in, it becomes easier to take out. I always do this in the shower.

I recommend you buy the DivaWash, so that when you change it it is faster than boiling it.

I hope this helped and was clear 😅

                                                                          • Anna Zhang

One important thing about menstrual cups is that it is recommended to boil it for 5 minutes BEFORE initial wear and between each period cycle. Otherwise, it's not necessary to boil it multiple times during your period.
