How much later do you post your videos than they actually happen just wondering what month and day you finished harvest.

i have always said they need to put a handle on both sides of the rock trap.

    • Fast Ag Montana
Fast Ag Montana   1 months back

John Bennett That would be handy. At least you could stay out of the dust then.

  • John Bennett
    John Bennett  1 months back

get 4 or 5 foot long re bar so you do not have to under the combine to clean out the rock trap .a 3/4 or 1 inch would be better

    • Fast Ag Montana
Fast Ag Montana   1 months back

John Bennett I would grab a bar out of the service truck when I dumped it.

We finally gave up harvesting. It’s so flat on the ground up here we ingested a rock nd broke off an elephant ear. Time for insurance adjuster and swath it and bale it.

Fast Ag Montana   1 months back

Kyle Wasson Oh man that’s to bad. We are considering rolling all our wheat acres now. At least you guys can use the feed for your cattle!

You seemed to hate the Deere the whole time you had it. It looked to me like it got the job done. I am not a farmer. You Actually seemed happy when the Deere left? My question is why? The machine did what it was built to do! Just because of its brand name & color you and your family seems to not like Deere? I guess it’s like the trucks? I own a Ford and I have owned a few Chevrolet trucks... I have nothing against Dodge but I would not buy one...
My question is were are you and your family now that your down one combine with bad weather coming and crops to get in? If you need a combine so bad why not go buy a new one or get one from online? You can’t do the work without the proper tools!
Why plant it if you can’t harvest it?

    • Fast Ag Montana
Fast Ag Montana   1 months back

NoMerc We have never seen this much rain during harvest before. Usually we get done harvesting in under 50 days and this year it lasted almost 75. We are considering acquiring a third combine. The Deere is a good combine that does do the job, but there are some things that could be improved, it is more complicated then the red ones. There are things I really liked about the Deere too. Since there was snow forecasted the night they came to get the combine it didn’t make sense to get another combine out for a few hours.

Another great video. Just like to know why you guys leave your hay stacked out in the fields and I thought you guys would have it sold as you bale it. Any way keep up the great work 👍

    • Fast Ag Montana
Fast Ag Montana   1 months back

Manvinder Singh Thank you, most of it is sold just haven’t had time to haul it yet. Normally we don’t have rain after July 4th. And the stacks are close to the roads.

I don't want to be rude or offend anyone but I thought this was funny. Earlier I saw this video thumbnail, just a quick glance, and I completely thought you were Brian from another popular farm channel that's in my state. They have a black trailer, he has a beard, wears a hat and sunglasses just like you lol. Good video, always interesting and entertaining. Got family in Dillon MT so I've been out that way a lot in the past, nice to see the sites in your area.

      • Fast Ag Montana

Erika Bowser Normally we will cut wheat in August here. This is Spring wheat. The winter wheat sometimes gets cut in late July.

      • Fast Ag Montana
Fast Ag Montana   1 months back

Jonathan Knighton A section of ground is 1 mile by 1 mile, 640 acres. So a half section is 1 mile by 1/2 mile. 320 acres.

Can canola or wheat survive winter and be harvested in spring. Sometimes in the Midwest we can take corn off in spring but it so tangled we have to drag the header in the mud.

      • Fast Ag Montana
Fast Ag Montana   1 months back

Timothy Bailey we usually have enough snow during the winter that the crops would get pushed to the ground.

The variety of crops you grow is interesting , wheat is the only one vaguely familiar to me but the storage problems that presents isn't something we have to deal with ! That and wet crops and no real way to dry them is also really different ! The fans and rotation around the bins would get pretty old after a while I'd think . What, happens with the bags if it's to wet ? I mean I know it spoils but do you just try to move it right away? I assume you normally have warm dry weather so you don't have all these problems ,but are dryers just unheard of or just don't handle those types of crops well , sorry so dumb but inquiring minds need to know!? Glad you got the crops out of the fields at least now you can figure out how to handle it ! That green machine didn't seem to have a negative affect on anyone so all will be well now ! Thanks for the video !

          • Fast Ag Montana
Fast Ag Montana   1 months back

Lee Steele most of our bins have fans but it takes warmer dryer weather to help dry the grain. The grain in the bags will come out the same moisture as you put it in. We will haul that first since they aren’t super tough.
