Even being a lcd, the display on asus 6z is amazing. Very good colors. Easy on the eyes and very bright too. I never had a problem in outside sun. I bought asus 6z a week back. And it is an amazing phone for half the price of oneplus 7 pro.

        IPS display in 2029 ????

        One plus 7 wins

Can someone explain to me why you need faster charges than a full charge in 1-2 hours?
It used to be like 7+ hours to charge your phone from 0 to full. And no one had any issues with that. Fast charge is nice but at a point - just like camera megapixels - there comes a point where it's just meaningless to improve it more.

Am I the only one over the infinity screen? I can't seem to protect it properly. The screen protectors are a joke. Not worth it plus you click on all sorts of random things when just moving it around in your hand usually picking it up or putting it down. I won't get another phone with curved edges again.

What I don't like about OnePlus phone is camera cos while taking video it used to get zoom. And sometimes what I point the object will get cut off half.
Selfie camera used to get zoom and not wide Angle camera.
While taking photos it's ok but video I don't recommend to anyone cos it's price is higer and bulkey Phone.
Where as at the same specification in more then half price you are getting zenphone 6 only difference is screen that also doesn't matter much, cos you are not goona live inside the phone

I would go with the Zenfone just because of the dedicated headphone jack. But you`re right the 1+ has a much better display. Excellent review regardless

PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE.... read my experience, alot of other people are going through this... check xda developer forums as well for this... buy at your own risk

I purchased my zenfone 6z in the end of june and after a few day's of usage my phone kept crashing and restarting on it's own. I gave my phone to the service center located in borivali (mumbai), they said that the phone could not be repaired and they will have to ship this phone to their service center in dadar (mumbai) and the whole process will take 14 days... after 14 days i get my phone back and i expect it to work... the same day i took my phone back it started restarting again,

After this i again went to the service center and this time too they took 14 days all over again and still till date my phone keeps restarting and crashing... It's been a month now and i have completely lost faith in their service centers and the they you provide.

I am sick and tired of writing mails, calling the helpline number and travelling to and fro the service center, I do not think that they possess the quality and expertise to repair this device.

They won't refund or replace this device too... please check all reviews before buying this device

I like the 1+ 7 pro better bcuz i dont have a budget and bcuz of the 90 hz display and bcuz of amoled and bcuz the selfie camera will last longer at 300,000 times of retracting on the camera vs 100,000 of the zenfone

The simple fact that the 7 Pro has a curved screen automatically makes the Zenfone 6 the winner.

For me it's all ram and memory. i don't care that much about an amoled screen or ip68. so for 8gb/256gb i'll go with the Zenfone 6 in a week or so.

My verdict, if you love a great screen then go for Oneplus7 pro, but if you value headphone jack, MicroSD-card slot and longer battery life go for Zenfone 6. Performance wise there will not be much of a difference since both phones use Snapdragon 855. If you are a diehard nitpicky gamer go for ASUS ROG Phone 2 (Snapdragon 855+, 120hz amoled, 6000mh battery, dtx front firing stereo speackers).
The most important thing here is how much money you are willing to spend? Zenfone 6 cheapest, Oneplus 7 Pro more expensive and Rog Phone 2 even more expensive. But none of theese is still as expensive as iPhone XS.

As a former Zenfone user that switched to OnePlus 6T end of last yr, it’s important to mention that Asus Android updates are rare, and there’s barely any updates past the first year. This matters, because it makes your phone not only less secure, but obsolete much quicker. Also, OnePlus’s retain their value, and can easily be resold for almost enough to buy the latest phone 2 years later... meanwhile used Asus phones end up in the trash. I cannot stress enough how much they overheat, the battery retains less of a charge, and all the ASUS optimization apps slow the phone down by shutting down all background processes, which then have to restart all at once.

OnePlus also comes with Adblocking built into the OS, some apps can’t show Ads whatsoever. There’s also no mention of the daily usability between the two, with OP being much more touch sensitive and accurate, and it doesn’t come with a bunch of bloatware (given Asus seems to have scaled that back a bit), but the Audio Wizard app mentioned uses up tons of battery, and is a serious privacy issue. I’d always end up disabling it. The updates on OP are also much more stable, whereas I had to live with a fucking white line across my screen (which Asus refused to fix within warranty), after my first update on that phone. Fingerprint on back is also a major pain when your phone is lying on the table, being used to watch videos, or mounted in your car. I also thought I’d miss the audio jack, but surprisingly OP has $20 USB C headphones (I got them free with a promo) that are the best earbuds I own atm, which is shocking. I actually get annoyed I can’t use them on my devices with audio jacks since there’s no backwards compatibility adaptor.

The massive battery in Asus makes it a heavy AF phone, and with the IPS LCD screen (which on mine literally came separated from the phone due to overheating melting the glue) is much less battery efficient than an AMOLED screen. It can also start to flicker a bit, and I notice a lot more eye strain and fatigue when using them vs AMOLED. The strange color temp and over saturation on the ASUS phones are also a big pain in the ass, you have to keep yet another Zenfone app running 24/7 to adjust the color, and it’s really hard to get True Tone’s. I mean that’s just for starters.... Zenfones need to stay around the $300-$400 range because they’re poorly made, there literally NO Customer Service or Tech support when you get a defective phone (which happens often), and the lack of software support, bloatware, and poorly optimized system that constantly overheats the device, also serious issues with call clarity and speakerphone mic distortion. Only things I miss about Zenfone are the Dialer (sleek customizable UI with audio recording built in, but heard they discontinued that recently) and SD card expansion.

Could care less about a headphone jack, looks stupid to me and its 2019, time to let the legacy stuff go people. Got the Bose Q35 wireless literally ended my love for the head phone jack. Wireless charging was a waste when I did use it, love warp charging better, wireless charging takes forever, used it once on my S8 plus never used it again. One plus has a better looking screen don't mind the curve edges most of my monitors and televisions are all curved. The Zenfone 6 looks nice though, but not feeling that LCD screen over Amoled. Both OS are fast but the Pro seems just a bit more responsive. The cameras are both ok, Zen might have it when it comes to different selfie options but the One plus 7 doesn't have a bad camera is great but not awesome. Love the speakers on the One Plus 7 Pro. Zenfone better value for the money, One Plus better quality overall.

What oneplus is trying to do with this 7pro is to try to steal consumers from samsung and apple (s10 and IphoneX). This comparison should be between zenfone6 and Oneplus 7 (not pro), since prices are identical.
I think onplus wins just in the community that supports it and at speed. The display issue has a lot to do with the user. You only notice the difference when we have the two equipments side by side. It does not bother me much about the small difference in colors and contrast and this difference is not enough to pay more.
Regarding oneplus7 (not pro) can already be compared, since the price is almost the same and are direct competitors.
And in this matter what will count a lot is the screen without notch with a rotating camera with all the mechanism that could fail with use, or a device with notch but without eventual wear of mechanical parts.
The oneplus (pro or not) fast charge is also an advantage over zenfone6, but the possibility of expanding the storage gives the asus an advantage.

No contest there then, considering its larger battery and the inclusion of a headphone jack and sd card expandability...
