I have a similar build to the 'Athlete'. I can run most games at high-ultra settings with around 40-60fps.

                      My build:
                      - Ryzen 3 2200g

                      - different random $40 case.

Really all this gaming rigs come down to what you buy for the monitor you use. Its dumb to buy gsync if your freesync monitor is not supported by NVIDIA. If you don't have a 75+hz monitor don't bother getting a beast gpu like 1080 ti or 2070, or the amd gpu's like the rx 5070. Its just a bottleneck until you figure out what works best with what.

Mid ranger is good, but price it at $1,080ish and you can have a 5700... quite a bit better than a 1660ti

Think the mid-ranger is the 1 making the most sense if the budget allows, with few modifs in some choices to improve value (such as GPU we can get for a lot cheaper; & used market).

I'm stuck between 1440p144hz or 4K60hz , knowing I'll probably make as much or + video editing than gaming... price range is about the same. At 27"
& 16GB vs 32GB of RAM, but I think 32 will be better for potential 4K editing...

                                                    Hi there, poor gamer here,
I am here to ask for advice and enlightenment on my ram upgrade. I currently own an Acer Aspire M3790 which I bought years ago. My current ram is 2 GB DDR3-1333/PC3-10600. I would like to ask:
1.) Can I use this 2GB in tandem with a new ram I am eyeing to buy which is a 4GB DDR3-1600/PC3-12800 (YRUIS or RAMSTA which is the only RAM i've canvassed so far in the nearby stores)? I'm planning to buy one at first and then buy a second one later to replace the 2GB for a total of 8GB if it is compatible.
2.) If it is compatible, which is more preferable Ramsta or Yruis, or is there a better brand with the same specs?
3.) Should I strictly stick with 1333Mhz/PC3-10600? It is hard to find 1333MHz, most stores sell only 1600MHz. (I find buying online too expensive especially the shipping fee)
                                                    4.) Any further recommendations?

                                                    • Brazio Gaming
                                                      Brazio Gaming  3 days back

                                                      1) yes you can. But be aware there is a chance failure happened and your integrated GPU didn't like it, at least in my laptop
                                                      2) sorry, never heard the brand so I can't say which is better
                                                      3) didn't have to. The CPU will clock the fastest it can support. When I want to upgrade the RAM of my laptop and know the max speed it can support, intel website say the CPU only support 800MHz & 1066MHz. But in my city no one sell RAM at that speed anymore, so I buy 1333MHz one and it runs perfectly fine. Of course it means the RAM didn't run at its full capability since they stuck at 1066MHz max
                                                      4) just make sure you replace the 2 GB as fast as you can
