1 Single DRY AGE Steak CHALLENGE | Guga Foods

  • Published: 11 September 2019
  • Is it possible to dry-age only 1 steak? Normally we dry-age a whole loin but never one steak. After many people requested this experiment today I deliver it with 3 different methods. I was shocked by this experiment and it is something you can try at home easily.

you should absolutely use the Butter from the Butter Aging. Cook your steak in a cast iron and then use the butter for the cook. If you waste this butter you are making a huge mistake.

If you dry aged meat with the same thickness for 14 weeks and Gordon Ramsay was present when you pulled it out of the fridge, he'd probably be like "What is this? Gandhi's flip-flop?" and hold it on one side and wave it around.

The two butter covered steaks you did, where they covered in the fridge for 14 days or was the butter the “bag?”

I would assume the butter is the bag right? Keen to try it, was thinking about putting plastic wrap around the butter just to stop fridge smells from penetrating it. Thoughts?

Hey guga, I'm trying to dry age, and my umai bag seems fairly loose around the meat, should I try resealing it?

Update, I opened the bag, used a new vacmouse and resealed it, this time trying harder to get all the air out, it seems much better with much more contact aside from a little in the corner, though the meat wasn't wet anymore so the membrane in some spots didn't seem to adhere well. Should I have rubbed some water on it for a better stick to the bag?

But the garage is just horrible. The videos are just less enjoyable because sound. I know you invest a lot of work to build the space great looking etc. But you have to do something about the sound. Put something on the walls to reduce the reflections or I dont know. Just write this to help to keep your videos perfect.
