Hi Zach, you are such a fine example of the "work ethic" and the need to get jobs done even if unpleasant. I would tend to procrastinate and that doesn't work on the farm. Thanks for showing the "less than fun chores" as well the super neat chores such as seeding or combining. I have a question on the micro-managing. You mention "down to the acre level" but it seems to me that you are adjusting to even smaller pieces of land -- which is incredible when you think back even a few years ago. Thanks for making the investments that keep food production high at a reasonable cost to the consumer. A great video. Thanks!! - Dean from Edina

Thanks again Dean!! Always appreciate your thoughts! The acres are managed at a 1-2.5 acre level but usually the programs we use, use an algorithm to blend the acres together based on averages, so there aren't hard breaks or 'lines' between the acres for certain applications. Did I make that clear as mud? Maybe it wasn't even what you were asking?!

If anyone calls you out on Welfare, they are absolutely insane. You’re one of the hardest working people on this planet. You’re a roll model to me and many others. You deserve any bit of money/payment you receive. You work much harder than 90% of Americans.

There are very FEW people who will get up and go to work and do the things you do. You’re one comment I always pick up on (and that you say often) is “I don’t like doing it but it’s just something we got to do”. Most people just won’t do something they don’t want to. Period.

Could you not build some sort of roof, port or covering over the pits. So the trucks could just drive under.

Not that I'm recommending it but many farmers spray round up on their crops to force the field to dry up uniformly so it can be harvested when they are ready.

Is there a drainage in the hopper if water would get inside it if the combine would be outside when it is raining or do you just let the water stay there until it's time for the next harvest and let the water get out with the grain? Great vids Zach keep up the good work!

Zach, I don't understand how the trade war will ultimately benefit farmers. The only thing I see them negotiating is intellectual property theft and technology theft. Neither of these issues affect farmers. Your bearing the brunt and not getting any benefit.

Part of it is China buying more us agriculture products. And in the last couple of weeks China has been buying soy beans and pork. So it's not all about that and even then they need us and we don't need them.

The Chinese government is directly retaliating against American farmers (especially soy farmers), because they know it's trumps base and his loony unguided "policy" is useless to try and deal with. They have the money and the resources to wait trump out. they're going to keep attacking American farmers. If trump would stop circumventing congress and allow them to formalize a better trade deal all the craziness could stop.
