iirc, Pluto is smaller than the average comet (and in fact a theory is that it may be a trapped comet from the Oort cloud or interstellar). The fact that it is still considered a planet, albeit in a sub-category of dwarf planet, should really appeal to fans of Pluto. As time progresses, and many more planets are discovered (including the mysterious one causing disturbances in our own solar system), more categories will be thought up for planets, like ice giants or gas giants, etc, and eventually Pluto may even have a new home (like dwarf ice planet vs. dwarf rocky planet). And planets that we call "planets" will eventually have to be separated out into their own groups. The word planet is still there. If anything, Pluto should serve as a reminder of how we are furthering our path through space. It was less a demotion and more of a restructuring due to the remarkable progress we have made in interstellar cartography.

That kid's letter was heartbreakingly precious!
Also, at :30 is a rare, rare moment when Neil deGrasse Tyson briefly loses his words. It must've really been emotional for him.

I've not hand-written anything since I left school.
Then one of my (10-year-old Chinese) students asked me how they should write a particular letter in English cursive,
and it was really enjoyable to pick up a pen and write again. To actually physically materialise your own thoughts and pull them into reality in analog with real-time feedback.

Well, Neil DeGrasse Tyson looks sorry for how he acted to those women. Unfortunately, his actions were not considered harassing enough to get fired. So his female coworkers still have to endure seeing him in the office. Celebrities and Politicians get away with a lot of sexual harassment. As a normal citizen, I could not get away with half as much as celebs and politicians. I wish it were the same high standard for everyone.

Aubberfly JM and you have some proof he *did* harass those women? someone accuses somebody for something and that somebody gets clobbered without proper invastigation...that your way of thinking? this is not middle ages anymore. there's no time for witchhunt. only for knowledge, truth and facts.

In other words, it wasn't harassment. No need to ruin another scientist's career over nothing. We already lost Lawrence Krauss that way.

This man is a beautiful human that does a great job interpreting the Beauty of reality and openly and carelessly expresses his passions to an ignorantly bred species. I'm over it. I forgive him. Pluto isn't just Not A Planet, it never was a planet. It should never have been considered one in the first place. It gives me hope the the most beloved man in America is an atheist that doesn't take sides, just facts. I think it helps redeem the historical stigma of atheism, the biggest growing minority in America, the the largest growing in non-muslim countries. We're going to be okay!

Listening to him narrate it is just soothing. I listened it on my commutes to work, and no matter how many bad drivers cut me off, I didn’t experience any road rage. It’s like his voice is just perfect for reading bedtime stories, in a really good way. You can easily stay awake and listen to “Astrophysics for People in a Hurry” because the content is so fascinating. But he just leaves you feeling very peaceful inside. It’s completely different from listening to his podcast StarTalk where it’s energetic and many people are trying to talk at once. I wish he had more time to narrate more of his books, but they did find someone who does sound close to him to narrate, like “The Pluto Files.” His books are always so enlightening. Like I learned a lot from “Accessory to War”; lots of things I wish I had known when I was enlisted in the Air Force.

@Sandriell My natural lazy style of writing is where i dont lift the pen from the paper and so the letters connect in a cursive manner. If i have to focus on lifting the pen and creating an equal space between the letters i would write much slower.

I'm 56. With really bad hand eye coordination trouble. My teachers went MAD trying to get me to PRINT straight. And then the whole cursive thing started. I tried, oh I tried. But all I could do was a kind of crazed, demented, rabid headless chicken scribble. All over the space between the lines. On the line? Well, I AIMED for the line.

If I had to, I could read cursive, if the writer was able to write in a clear, legible hand. I don't use cursive, I tend to scrawl in an odd slovenly form of cursive printing. I developed it to take quick notes in school, during classes. I don't even type well. I've taken typing and keyboarding, and I can't get past 15 words a minute.

I think today's kids are only taught some printing and keyboarding. They won't have those charts all around the classroom, showing how to make a perfect set of cursive letters.

Can we have a moment of silence, for the demise of the hand written note...

There is absolutely no way Disney would create a Fox branded service to compete with themselves. It is however possible they are saving it for the Disney+ launch, which is in November.

Seth is putting his Orville on Hulu for S3, and he produces Cosmos. Unless, per the previous contract, it needs to air on Fox since it was going to to begin with. Maybe a possible S3 (S4) would go to Hulu.
